But Not For Long!

Mum and I gave dad a book called The Cambridge Guide to English Usage too, although he uses quite enough already . . . sometimes enough to put me quite to sleep . . .

Today is Fathers' Day in Oz, so we had some fun today, going to the Rocklea Sunday flea market where Dad bought some books on Aussie plants and some Aussie plants to go with them (Crow's Nests and ferns and Allyssum and such), and Mum bought some poffertjes from a stall and then we all came home and had a yummy lunch after Dad planted the stuff up, and then I jumped on his lap and we all had another laugh!

Where I often find the entertainment rather exhausting . . .

And this is me off to the back park . . .

This is our kitchen at night, apparently . . .

We've finally had some rain too, which is fun, and the house is really looking quite nice, so why they keep buzzing around looking at other ones to buy I don't really know . . .

Last night mum and dad got busy again re-arranging the house because a man from Mr Sleepy arrived with their new bed, so they put their old futon arrangement out in the second sitting room for summertime relaxing and visitors . . . of which they are expecting quite a few quite soon with all my grandparents arriving to see me next month! There's another bed coming from Ikea too sometime next week and after that dad says "No More!" almost like he means it . . .

Wearing our outdoor essentials!

Where we went for a family picnic before Mummy started her brand new job as an Education and Training Officer for the Fire Ant Control Centre, Biosecurity, Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries. . . (info here - yuk!)

While I get on with the serious business of having fun. This is me in Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens with Auntie Helen . . .

Cute huh?

The occasional amazing discovery in "our" garden

And the view of the back . . .

As does the view out the back . . .

And I help as much as I can . . .

Which seems to have helped him forget some of the pain of last season . . .

And one of Daddy's parents' favourite pieces - a German designed sectional bookcase called a Globe-Wernicker that lived in Nigeria, Cambridge and St Lucia with them - came back into our life after 20 years holiday at his bruvver Alex's in Canberra and Allison and Jeb's

Great Uncle Graham rescued this beautiful Silky Oak dresser (and a sideboard too) from neglect and really fixed them up, and now they are both ours as well!

And more . . .

And more . . .

And sorting the house out more and more . . .

But most of time we seem to be planting . . . (these are crows' nest ferns apparently . . .

We spent some time up at the north coast recently at a friend's place near the beach - that was very nice indeed

Can't they see I do!

These jobbies! Apparently they're Bush Turkeys. They spend a lot of time digging up the neighbours' yards though and generally acting like they own the place . . .

The local ducks seem to like it in the pool, and fences don't get in their way much. Possums partying on the roof and eating Mummy's parsley, magpies, lorikeets, mynahs, crested pigeons, crows, lizards and such already. . . . whew, whatever next?

It's nice to have a place to strut my stuff - although compared to Walnut Tree Walk it's bloody quiet around here. Can be a bit bright though . . .

So here's the car we need to get around the good places in! Daddy's never owned a car before, so I hope he enjoys it as much as I do riding around in the back . . . Mum and Dad laugh when I swear at other drivers or tell Dad the light is green now . . . but why?
